Trouble Breathing?
If you’ve ever had trouble breathing, if you have any friends or family with asthma, you’ll want to read this.
- A clinical trial showed that asthma patients treated with chiropractic treatment experienced significant improvement of bronchial hyper-reactivity and saw a decrease in asthma severity.
- Another clinical trial reported that the patient group that was treated with spinal manipulation showed significant improvement in asthma symptoms.
- In another study involving 55 patients, improved pulmonary function was reported in patients receiving spinal adjustments. The study noted significant functional and clinical effects following chiropractic care for the correction of upper cervical vertebral subluxation.
Additionally, a study conducted by the Michigan Chiropractic Council examined the chiropractic effectiveness in correcting the cause of asthma in patients from birth to age 17. The average age of the participant was 10 years old:
- “After 30 days of chiropractic health care, patients averaged only one attack, whereas prior to the study they were experiencing more than four attacks,” said Dr. Bob Graham, who directed the study. “Medications were decreased by nearly 70 percent. Finally, patient satisfaction was rated 8.5 on a scale of 10.”
While chiropractic isn’t a treatment that eradicates asthma, research shows that by reducing tension in the asthma sufferer’s nervous system, the symptom called asthma can be helped and reduced.
